A mystical traveler after a certain time on his spiritual journey may experience some signs that mark his state and stage:
1. A traveler will feel in reality of his entity self-observation and divine presence.
2. A traveler will be able to control his words and silence will become routine.
3. His invocation with the tongue will convert to invocation with the heart after practicing and continuation in invocations, prayer, supplication and requests to holy people.
4. Veridical dream and sometimes divine inspiration, the unveiling and correct predictions will occur frequently in this state; he needs to be guided by a master.
5. A voyager’s eyes will open to the absolute unification of thought and heart.
6. A voyager will feel in his soul the state of a tendency to pray God in all daily works.
7. A voyager will enjoy seeing the natural world and all creations of the universe; because in them he will observe his true love.Therefore, in this state as a traveler who journeys in the earth he will comprehend monotheism from every living being that expresses it.
8. A voyager will tend to read mystical poetry and if he has no talent for composing poetry, he will seek to read the mystical poems: the poetry books of Ibn Farid in Arabic and from Hafiz and Masnavi of Mowlana in Persian and others like them.
9. Spiritual contraction and openness will appear inside him.
10. A voyager will receive attractions from God and divine songs.
11. A voyager’s passion for God the exalted and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and infallible Imams: especially Imam Ali (pbuh) and Imam Hussain (pbuh) and Imam Mahdi (pbuh) will grow.
12. A voyager’s soul will rise towards oneness of being and ecstatic absorption. And a voyager’s all-seeing eye will weaken, as will the habits of the mundane and the rote.
13. A voyager will do recommended deeds, not for divine reward and unveilings of inspiration and humble desires, but will correct his intention for his beloved (God) in every act of worship and good deed. And he will centralize in himself faithfulness and the negation of doubt and anxiety.
