Concealment is an important principle for the spiritual improvement of a mystical traveler, while knowing that nothing should be concealed from a mystical traveler’s master. A mystical traveler must not speak about their spirituality, dreams, disclosures, recitations of God’s names, nor express their religious devotion, long prostration and other related matters unless the master has given permission. A mystical traveler must be a secret keeper about everything they have shared with their master. It is said in Hadith, “Assist yourself in your affairs by concealing.”
Essential concealing is not attained except by practicing contemplation in yourself and perfect self-vigilance. Only then does a mystical traveller find that permanent concealing is an important factor to reform and complete their soul, and this is the foundation for understanding the hidden truth which is veiled when there is failure to conceal secrets.
